Positive Affirmations are a powerful tool you can use at any time to mainfest what you want most in your life. Every thought that you have creates your reality. This is true for both positive and negative thoughts. Unfortunately, many of us get stuck in a habit of repeating the same negative self-limiting beliefs about ourselves, our lives, and our potential which creates a stagnant, unhappy reality.
With positive affirmations, you are actually re-programming your subconscious mind to listen up and pay attention to positive, healthy statements that will benefit you, whether or not you believe them at that exact moment. The more repetition these affirmations have, the more likely these thoughts become part of your way of thinking, and your subconscious believes them too. It's almost like your are brain-washing your own brain with happy, healthy, positive, life-changing thoughts and affirmations.
Think about what you want most in your life. This can be in terms of happiness, love, a healthy lifestyle, self acceptance, or financial abundance. Jot those ideas down on a piece of paper or in a journal. Next you want to create statements of what you want in a positive connotation. Most importantly, make sure they are completely POSITIVE.
If you want less stress in your life, instead of saying, "I want my life to be stress-free, " state instead, "My life is harmonious and peaceful at all times." If you have been suffering from chronic headaches, you don't want to say "I want my headaches to go away," say "my healing is in progress, I will feel healthy today." It's just that simple.
Once you have a list of your positive affirmations, write them down and read them often. Write them on sticky notes and place them on your bathroom mirror. If you want to increase your self-love, place a sticky note by the mirror that says, "I love and accept myself exactly as I am, I am perfect and whole." Mirror work can be very powerful. Smile at yourself in the mirror as you state your affirmations as you will associate happiness with your smile.
Writing in a journal daily with all of your affirmations is a great way to see how your thoughts change. When you look back years later, you will be able to see the positive changes that took place in your life once you started your affirmation practice. Repetition is the best way to get your subconscious mind to listen up and truly believe these happy, positive statements. You can also try repeating your affirmations as part of your meditation practice.
